Malaria is a life-threatening disease as the prevalence rate is estimated at 30% across all age groups. Malaria causes devastating economic and social consequences, impacting Chad’s gross domestic product by 8.9% annually.
Due to the high rates of malaria in Chad, mainly in rural areas, Motocross For Malaria aims to provide antimalarial treatment, screening and prevention to people in rural areas of Chad by motocross.

Antimalarial treatmentWith the emergence of drug resistance, MFM was able to accommodate the requirements of WHO of adopting artemisinin-combination therapies as the new type of drug against plasmodium falciparum. |
screeningThe screening is done using rapid diagnostic tests, which assist in the diagnosis of malaria by detecting evidence of malaria parasite (antigens) in human blood. |
prevention programPrevention plays an important role in the fight against malaria. MFM's prevention plan includes several different components. One of them is the creation of booklets (mostly with illustrations) in different local languages of Chad to facilitate the understanding of the disease. |
OUR GOALOur children are dying. We want to change that. |
HOPE
MFM differs itself from other non-profit organizations as it is a student-led organization, run by young and talented Chadians.
|
CHANGE
It only takes one person to make a difference. Join us in our fight against malaria to make Chad a better and healthier country.
|
INNOVATION
Our vision is to reduce the prevalence of malaria in Chad. We are doing so by partnering with local trained nurses and clinicians in rural areas as well as using motocross to reach these remote communities.
